Supporting Evidence: Found images for my NEA

Image
This would of linked the political aspect of my current affairs magazine. If I could of gotten out I would of taken a picture outside of a hospital or a wall in a busy town where there has been relevant NHS graffiti which I could of used in my magazine. These two images would of linked in to closed businesses or an original photograph of people shopping. I also would of gone out to a restaurant and take a similar set up with natural lighting to match one of my articles in the magazine. If I had the time I would of arranged a friend of family member to recreate a similar image so it would give representation in my magazine for sexuality.

Supporting Evidence: Issue 1 using layer masks

Image
This is the photo I was going to experiment with layer masks. I chose a second photo that i would like to layer on top of the main image. I made sure my first photo wasn't sitting on my background, so I added another layer to edit with, Using the quick selection tool, I highlighted the blue face mask, I refined my selection by adding and subtracting if I didn't get the selection accurate first time. After the mask was accurately selected. I added a layer mask. I brought in the second image and placed it over my original. I inverted the layer mask by pressing Ctrl I and therefore the 2nd photo shows up behind the original. In the future id used this to replace a background for a model on a magazine- or to create a text wrap around the image. Personally the outcome of this layer mask doesn't work so well but I know how to use this effectively in the future. Id also continue editing this picture to be eventually used for my Issue 1.

Supporting Evidence: Editing image for issue 1

This is the unedited photo. I then centred my image by cropping the edges and resizing it. By pressing Ctrl L, I altered the light levels to add more contrast. I then added some saturation to enhance the blue mask colour. I blurred the background so all the focus would be on the model in the mask. I then added saturation to the mask with the sponge tool. This is the final edited photo.

Supporting Evidence: Editing images for Issue 2

Image
This is the original photo taken. I cropped and resized the image to my own liking using the crop tool I utilised the light level tools and added more depth and contrast. I then added the appropriate amount of sharpness to finish the overall look. I then added more colour saturation and hue to enhance the photos colours.    This is the final edited photo.

Supporting Evidence: Editing images for my website

Image
This is the original unedited photo. I began to crop and resize the photo to what I thought looked best. By pressing Ctrl + L, I altered the light levels to add contrast and lower brightness. I then went in with a sponge tool and added depth to the whiter parts of the cats fur so you can see more detail as its whitewashed.   I lastly altered the sharpness of the image. This is the final edited photo, the subtle changes has enhanced the photo even more.

Planning: Mock ups and hand drawn 1st drafts

Planning Brand Identity

Image
Brand Identity: 3 font styles-    For the Title font Currently  For the headers in the magazine Currently   For the small text inside Imagery- - The imagery used on my magazine and website will be simple, recognisable and match the appropriate articles. Logo- This is the logo I've designed which I'll use on all the newspapers for Currently. I will also have it used on my website to create synergy. Graphics- - My overall theme is to make it look arts and crafty so my boxes will look like post it notes and the content and detail inside would be designed like a note page. This similarly fits in with my logo. This matches with my target audience of 16-25 as most of them would be studying or potentially just starting off their career and the idea of note pads fit their theme- plus it keeps it more interesting. All shapes will fit this.   Colour Scheme: - I will experiment around with this colour scheme of reds and golds and blacks. The post it notes could have g...
