Best & Worst Images Analysis

This
is one of my best photographs I captured around school it follows the rule of 3
and rule of odds where you can see the left wall, the girl and then the right
wall. The shot is centre frame from a low angle where the floor takes up a
third of the image. The person in the centre is almost a silhouette and you
can’t see many features. The overall tone is dark but there is a break of
daylight at the very background of the image which is very complimentary to the
other features.
This
is another of my best photographs I captured around school. It’s a similar
format as the first as in being in the same area. It follows the rule of thirds
as the wall in the image takes up 2/3 of the image but a way to improve is that
I could add something else in the image would create a rule of odds. The
model is posing against the wall that predominately takes up the entire image
and the darkness of the wall contrasts the bright daylight. It’s a right frame
mid shot.
This
is the third most effective image. Its close up surrealism of mini figurines
touching and working on a banana. The background matches the jungle aesthetic.
image itself portrays. The humour makes
the image even more enjoyable to look at. Lastly
the perspective of the banana being double the side than the people creates the
comedy. Moreover the colour scheme is all bright and vibrant to match the
jungle colours

This
image isn’t that effective compared to other shots. You can see part of another
wall on the very edge which is distracting to look at and the yellow hose pipe
is very visible in the daylight to matching the dark theme. The model isn’t in
the centre almost at a slant and there is too much going on in the image which
creates the readers eyes to move all over the picture and not notice the model
first.
This
is clearly not a good image. The idea was the get an atmospheric photo with the
close up of the rain drops and the gloomy setting but the image ended up
blurred and no focus on the rain drop loses this effective. Moreover the bottom
of the image you can see a ledge which is a distraction from an ideal
naturalistic photo and in turn is also blurry. It doesn’t follow any
conventions like the rule of odds and the rule of thirds so overall doesn’t
have the basic parts to make up an effective image.
This
is the last bad photo I captured around school. The idea was meant to be a
birds eye view of an action shot of the model playing the piano but I couldn’t
get the camera height so the photo is at a slant/high angle but not high up for
a birds eye view. Moreover the piano doesn’t fill up the entire 1/3rd of the image to match that photo
rule and the piano has a reflection of the lights from above which is a photo
distraction and you can see a reflection of other people in the piano too.

This is an excellent post with a good use of media language. Well done.
